أعلن “أشتون كارتر” وزير الدفاع الأمريكى عن ثقته من أنه سيتم هزيمة تنظيم داعش، فى سوريا والعراق خلال شهر.
وقال فى تصريحات خاصة لهيئة الإذاعة البريطانية “بى بى سى” اليوم الخميس، إن هدف الجيش الأمريكى حاليا بمساعدة كل من تركيا والمعارضة السورية هو استعادة مدينتين رئيسيتين وهما “الموصل” و”الرقة” من قبضة تنظيم “داعش”.
وأضاف أنه يجب على الرئيس السورى بشار الأسد التنحى عن منصبه فى أسرع وقت ممكن للسماح لإدارة مؤقتة بتولى شئون البلاد والعمل على إحلال سلام دائم، كما أشار إلى أن واشنطن تحاول إقناع موسكو باستخدام نفوذها للضغط على الأسد.
